Shifty Eye Games raises $580K and appoints gaming luminaries as advisers

Why this matters to Alberta game development
Calgary-based Shifty Eye Games secured $580,500 through the federal Creative Export Canada program while preparing its largest project to date, a multi-platform stealth-adventure game based on a major film franchise. The funding is intended to support international promotion, team growth and development as the studio searches for additional talent.
Shifty Eye also expanded its advisory board with experienced industry figures including Bungie co-founder Alex Seropian, technology executive Vikas Gupta and marketing adviser Justin Ratushniak. Founded in 2019 by former Bungie project lead Tuncer Deniz, the studio had grown to 25 employees, released or worked on nearly 30 games and raised approximately $6 million. The combination of federal investment, hiring and connections with internationally experienced advisers demonstrates the potential for Calgary-based studios to grow beyond small independent production and compete for larger licensed projects and global audiences.
