You can’t trust magic to tell the truth of the crime scene, this is what the courts now believe. Apprentice detective Minnie Star and her mentor, famous magician detective Maxwell Lasnam, seek to expose magical crimes that the courts are unable to judge. But magic enhancing items have started appearing that dredge up remnants of Lasnam’s Debut Case.
