Studios
I'd like my studio added
We’re working on a studio submission form. In the meantime, please contact us.
What studios are included?
Criteria:
- Alberta based
That’s it. That’s the criteria.
Size does not matter. A solo dev going by a studio handle making a game in their bedroom or 50+ devs working at an office building, they are all included.
What studios are not included?
Satellite studios.
eg. Rockstar Games offers remote roles across Canada.
I cannot call Grand Theft Auto 5 an Alberta made game if someone in Alberta contributed.
Are there exceptions?
Of course. Working remotely has resulted in teams being formed all over the world that work collaboratively.
eg. Team A comprises of two people from Edmonton and one from Calgary.
eg. Team B comprises of one person from Edmonton and one from San Diego.
Both of these meet the criteria of Alberta based. Team A is 100% Alberta. Team B is 50% Alberta, but is still an equal partner.
eg. Team C comprises of one person from Edmonton, one from Sweden, one from the USA, and one from Pakistan.
This one is harder to accept as ownership is 25%. If you’re passionate about getting onto a website about games made in Alberta, reach out if you are in this scenario.
eg. Team D comprises of one person in Edmonton and six in other countries, BUT the company is based in Edmonton.
This one is 100% Alberta.
